- Dimitar Dimov is one of the most prominent Bulgarian novelists. He is best known for his novels "Tobacco" (Bulgarian: Tyutyun) and "Doomed Souls" (Bulgarian: Osadeni dushi). Both novels were filmed and became cinema classics in Bulgaria. Dimitar Dimov is a master of a psychological portraying, discovering the fine layers of human emotionality. The main themes of his works are the ruinous force of love, the dismal end of life and the falsity of the ideological cliches promising a paradise here on earth. He is obsessed with almighty gloom passions consuming human souls to death. Dimitar Dimov died on April 1st 1966 at Bucharest airport from massive stroke.

Ivan Terziev was born on 11 February 1934 in Lovech. He graduated in Acting from National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia in 1958 and in Film Directing from the State Institute of Cinematography, Moscow (1966). He had taught Film Editing at National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia , Assoc. Dako Dakovski was born on August 7, 1919 in Tarnak, Lovech, Bulgaria. He was a Bulgarian film director and actor. Shortly after his graduation from Moscow Cinema Institute (VGIK), he had made Under the Joke (1952), a screen version of the classic Bulgarian novel by Ivan Vazov - the story about a Bulgarian village at the time of the last rebellion against the Turks (1976). In the six films that he made Dakovski remained above all the spokesman for the Bulgarian peasant, the chronicler of his struggle for freedom and his effort to maintain this freedom, as illustrated by Troubled Road (1955). Dakovski began the historical film Kaloyan (1963), but he died on January 28, 1962 in Sofia, Bulgaria at the time of shooting. Another director Yuriy Arnaudov had finished the film.- Director

Docho Bodzhakov graduated in Film direction in the classes of the great Bulgarian filmmaker Vulo Radev at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria (1981). He was a Member of Executive Committee of the Bulgarian National Television. He is the director of many documentaries, TV shows, theater performances. Since 2002 he is teaching Film Directing at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria.- Boris Lukanov was born on June 15, 1936 in Lovech, Bulgaria. He played in amateur theater school and amateur theater group at the community center in Lovech . His first role was Leopold Schubert in the play " Fault " by Boris Lavrenov, directed by a teacher in Bulgarian language and literature Trifon Hinov. He graduated in "acting" at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria in the class of Professor Stefan Surchadzhiev in 1959. He worked as an actor in Tolbouhin Theater (1960 - 1961), Varna Theater (1961 - 1982) and the National Theater " Ivan Vazov ". He is a freelance actor since 2000. He prefers appearances in plays from the classics writers - Gorky, Chekhov, Turgenev, Shakespeare, Leonov and others. He worked with the best directors, including Stancho Stanchev, Oleg Yefremov , Assen Shopov, Vili Tsankov , Encho Halatchev , Alexander Morfov and others. He is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Actors and the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers. He participated in 48 Bulgarian feature films. He played the roles of prominent and important personalities from different eras: Jovan Ristic ( " Legend of Paisii ", 1963), Professor Alexander Tsankov ( " On the trail of the missing ," 1979), Dr. Alexander Peev ( " Alone among wolves ", 1979), Lieutenant-General Ivan Marinov ( " Blow ", 1981), Gyorche Petrov ( " Measure according to Measure ", 1981), Dr. Krystju Krastev ( " Case 205 / 1913 ", 1984), Kavhan Etkh (" Boris I ", 1985), Stefan Stambolov (" Dreamers ", 1987), the father of Dali (" Is , "1991). He participated in Spanish and French production, which starred Michael Quinn and Christopher Lambert . He was awarded with the First prize of Review of Bulgarian drama and theater (19 75); Award for acting by the Union of Bulgarian Actors (1976), Best Actor Award in the play "Prosecutor" (1977), Best Actor Award for the role of Dr. Alexander Peev in the movie " Alone among wolves " (1979) and Award for Best actor in a TV movie (1980). He is Honored Artist (1977). He received the Order of Cyril and Methodius, Order "Red Banner of Labor". He was proclaimed honorary citizen of the city Lovech. Academy "Asker" awarded him with the prize for outstanding contribution to theater "Asker 2016".

Ivan Veselinov graduated from the Higher Institute of Veterinary Medicine and in 1968, from the Academy of Fine Arts. He worked in the area of cartoons and posters. Script-writer of more than 25 scripts; art designer of some 20 animated films; director of 50 or so animated films. Lyubomir Pipkov was born on September 6, 1904 in Lovech, Bulgaria. He is a son of the composer Panayot Pipkov. Lyubomir Pipkov is a representative of the so-called "second generation" of Bulgarian composers, one of the founders of the "Society of Bulgarian Composers for Contemporary Music "(1933). His varied creative realization as a composer, writer and poet, publicist and public figure, educator and artist with a bright social position and progressive for the time belief has made him as a leading figure in the musical culture and Bulgarian intellectual elite in the twentieth century. He studied piano in the class of Ivan Torchanov and H. Wiesner. He graduated from Ecole Normale de Musique Paris (France), in the composition class of Paul Duke and N. Boulanger, and in the piano class of Yves Lefebure. After his final return to Bulgaria in 1932, he had worked as an accompanist and chorus master at the Sofia Opera and was actively involved in the work of the newly established "Contemporary Music" society. After 1944 he is a Chief of the Sofia Opera (1944-48). Since 1948 he is a professor of vocal ensembles in Music Academy "Pancho Vladigerov"). He was a founder and first editor of the magazine "Music" (1948) (since 1953 - "Bulgarian music"). He participated in many congresses and international juries. He was a Chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Composers (1945-54). He was a Honorary member of the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers (1974). He was posthumously honored with the title of Corresponding Member of Arts of the German Democratic Republic (today Germany). He had composed in all genres of their time creatively rethinking their imagery and musical language. He composed three operas; vocal-orchestral works; 4 symphonies and other symphonies for string and chamber orchestra; voice and chamber orchestra; chamber music; choral, solo songs, children's songs, folk song for voice and piano; film music and more. Among his choral masterpieces are "Levels", "Spring Wind", "Yellow Butterfly", "Nani my Nani, Damyancho", "Muted Songs" cycle for female choir and others have permanently entered the repertoire of Bulgarian choirs and established reputation of Bulgarian choral art of authoritative international forums. Hristo Kovachev was born on May 6, 1929 in the village Ostretz, Troyan district, Bulgaria. He had 13 International Awards for his films. He was an incredibly talented director of documentaries who succeeded like no other to gain the trust of their characters, so in his films people behaved so naturally that audience simply did not believe their eyes. Not all colleagues shared some of his methods of work, maybe many of them not loved him and he at one time had become too cared for by power, but that's life. He made his famous movie "Builders" in which people direct talk their cursing on camera. He simply failed to become "their man". However, this process has lasted to 6 months. It is not possible to talk about Bulgarian documentary films before '89 without phenomenon "Hristo Kovachev." He was a bright artist, he left school behind him, but leaped awkwardly dance with the totalitarian state. He died on July 30, 1997 in Sofia, Bulgaria.- Director

Bulgarian director and screenwriter Ivan Cherkelov was born in Lovech in 1957. He graduated from the High Institute of Theater Arts in 1982, with a degree in film directing. She has a title Honored Artist (1982). She won the First prize for the role of Vida in the movie "Crossroads of the Clouds" at the VII National Review of Bulgarian drama and theater (1983). She had three commemorative medals for participation in World War II (one Soviet and two Bulgarian). She died on May 12, 2007 in Sofia.
